that's awesome, and quite naturally it's incumbent upon me (all of us) to thank you again for your work across a period of a number of years now, in bringing this website to us!
You may know that I already had to add another level, just for you - I'm not adding another one I'm afraid! Also, I forgot to add the points for level 10, so it crashed when it was supposed to give you the points+notification, which is why it didn't show up earlier today. I fixed that now.
God bless, and make sure you enjoy a break at some point!
I have made a change to how combined verses are counted, to make it more accurate. For example, "John 1:1-2" is now counted as 2 verses, not 1. And if you learn "John 1:1" as well as "John 1:2" individually, as well as "John 1:1-2", this is counted as a total of 2 unique verses not 3.
So, you may notice your "Verses started" or "Verses finished" stats change, up or down depending on what verses you have learnt. Any "Student" or "Master" awards earned so far won't be removed, but you may have more work to do to get your next one, or less.
Hi NewTestamentMemorizer - I'm the webmaster here on LearnScripture. I'm really glad you felt you could share your problems with the community on this website.
If you are feeling depressed, especially if you have thoughts of suicide, it's really important that you also share these things with your real life community, and particularly your parents and family, or another trusted adult, or people qualified to help with depression, like doctors. Depression is called a mental illness for good reason - it's not just a spiritual matter. And God has put other people around us, and given us doctors etc., because He wants to help us through them.
It looks like a problem only with Safari, I know why it happens. It was a change I made that simplified things and required fewer graphics, while also making the bar more accurate, but it doesn't work on most versions of Safari, so I'll need to re-think it.
I haven't made any significant changes to that. The exact requirements are pretty difficult to describe fully. The concept is simple in essence - there is 'curve' that you are moving along towards the '100%' mark. If you score 100% in tests every time, and are just learning a single verse, then you will gain about 5% progress every time you are tested, and be tested in every increasing intervals.
The first complication is what happens when you score less than 100%. In that situation, early on in the process you can still make good progress with mediocre scores (e.g. 80%), but later on you are expected to have learnt the verse much better to continue to make progress.
The second complication is passage learning which cause verses to be learnt together, which means that verses can be tested before their own individual schedule (because of other, 'weaker' verses that need testing sooner). When a verse is tested before its own schedule, you won't get 5% progress even if you score 100%.
These complexities could make it look like it has got easier (or harder)
