LOL. I am laughing for joy, that you love God's word so much. I mean it sincerely. A true love for God's word shows a true love for God. His word is his revelation of Himself to us. And so we long to know Him more and better and deeper.
First of all, thanks for the introduction. I've noticed you are very accomplished at things here. Well done!!!
My strategy? Well, at first I started with "Bible 101", just to check things out, then added a few somewhat familiar verses.
At the moment I am slowly working my way thru Genesis 1 and Proverbs 3. Plus I've got Psalm 91 down fairly well. So you could say my strategy is a mix of easy verses, short passages and entire chapters.
Another part of the strategy of course is prayer. Asking the Lord constantly to open up my understanding and enable me to truly grasp the knowledge of His Word. Which is what I believe has allowed me to retain things as well as I have thus far. With that said..... Praise the Lord!!!!
As far as goals go, just to commit to memory and be able to recall from memory as much as possible from the Word of God.
Eventually I would like to tackle the entire book of Romans. Which is, I believe, one of the most important books of the Bible, and one every believer should study in depth.
Memorizing scripture has long been an ambition. In the 2 short weeks I've been on board this system has proven to be a blessing and an answer to prayer.
An additional blessing is seeing so many others seeking for greater understanding and knowledge from the Word of God.
Keep up the good work!!!! And thank you for the personal greeting!
Well done. Good start! I hope you stick around here for a while. I'm always interested in the other people who use this site to see what brings them here or what their approach/method is when choosing and learning verses and if they have any long term goals. Would you mind introducing yourself? I suppose I should introduce myself first. I've been on the site a little while (since last February) and find it encouraging and helpful to hear from other people. I remember starting out with modest ambitions to learn a few shorter passages (eg. the lord's prayer, ten commandments, a psalm or two, etc.). After I had learnt them though, I realized that it wasn't as hard as I thought and decided to take on larger passages. As have a few other users who have shared what they are learning.

Well if eventually you do take on Romans you can join a group of us who are undertaking that endeavour! There are a few active members going through it at the moment and its been good to share the journey together. That was the first book that I undertook to learn in its entirety and I have been greatly blessed by it and so I've been trying to encourage others to do the same. Thanks...what a blessing it is to have discovered this site. Really helps to get the WORD planted in the mind (and heart too). It's great to see so many people spending their free time to dig deeper into God's Holy Word!
