ha ha :-) Yes, a while ago I was wondering how long it took to get to learn a verse completely - they say about a year, but I can´t remember which verses I started learning a year ago and I haven´t been following my progress on any particular verse. Then I just forgot about it and all of a sudden a badge popped up today! Very suitable on the first Sunday in Advent that my first verses completely learned are from John 1 :-)
I love the gospel of John. Yes, thanks for that little story. We have a quiet peaceful winter's evening (well, almost winter) here in Estonia. Hope you have the same!
Congratulations! You should be mastering a few verses every week from now on. That will be fun. You'll probably beat JDJDJD to level 4 as well if you keep it up!
Hello there! The weeks fly by and all of a sudden it´s winter and Christmas is just a few weeks away. Not exactly snow here, but hard enough frosts to make the ground white. Crazy busy at home and at work, but had a wonderful quiet Sunday yesterday. A time of year to actively make room for quiet... :-)
Hello Robinshe, how are you? Over here in my part of the world we have partly cloudy skies and almost zero temperatures, but no snow yet. Another Monday morning ...

I was so busy, that I didn't notice your remark "to actively make room for quiet". I agree. We have to fight for times of rest (paraphrasing here the thought in Hebrews). It's very important to make a priority of being in God's rest, because this is when I believe we can best hear His voice speaking to us. And we need so much to hear him speaking to us. On the other hand, it can be also so easy to get swept into the current of being busy and endless activities .... that's why we must strive to enter His rest.
I blinked, and you zoomed past me! (No hard feelings, I was well prepared for this day... :-) ). But seriously, congratulations on the faithfulness you have demonstrated in learning a little every day over such a long time now. May the Lord bless you through the word he has spoken to you.
Without having set a specific date in mind, I think it would be a cool thing to have learned the entire New Testament. Which seems like a very ambitious lifelong goal - until I checked how many verses there actually are: only about 7500! So both of you guys have already learned the equivalent of over 10% of the whole NT!! We´re on our way!
Annette - I am also surprised at how often I am discovering completely new things reading the Bible in this way, even though many of the passages are familiar from before. Joosep - are you working your way through all of Daniel, or just the part about Daniel?
Almost 100,000 already! Nicely done :-) Glad you are enjoying the site, I have found it to be a wonderful help in really studying the Bible. If you would like to join a bunch of us on the "Leaderboard Group for everyone", you´re welcome to join us there for some company and encouragement along the way..
Reading John 14 and 16 I am struck by how often Jesus repeats in his parting words to his disciples that they should ask for anything in his name and it will be given them...
The addict badge is highly coveted - some people lose sleep to get it, while others actually travel around the planet to achieve it without losing sleep. But perhaps you also had a secondary reason for traveling?
