Me? Judging? Really? For that I would have no excuse! No, no, by my good conduct I will show my works in the meekness of wisdom. Although I have not yet thanked you for your kind words of consolation and comfort last week. Grace to you and peace from God our father and our Lord Jesus Christ :-)

Interesting! I feel like I only really know John now. After working on romans and maybe some of Paul's letters, I think I'll start another gospel. Will be interesting to read after learning John so well!
Hi and welcome back to the boards! Probably changed a lot since you were last here, but you´ll find many of us on the "Leaderboard Group for Everyone" board. Feel free to join us there for some company!
Congratulations! Would you like to join us on the "Leaderboard group for everyone" board? You´re welcome to join us there for some company if you´re interested... :-)
I like this blind guy. Great personality! Fun watching him go from an anomymous beggar on the street to someone who is surprisingly and miraculously healed for no apparent reason to someone who starts to speak out about the man who healed him and becomes so confident that he answers back in no uncertain terms to the church leaders. And I love how Jesus seeks him out at the end when he is thrown out of the synagogue and introduces himself. We hear no more about the blind guy, but I bet his life was radically transformed. I picture him with a kind of Peter-like personality.
Thanks guys. Knew I could cry on your shoulders for a minute. And even though I could actually use this opportunity to take a little break from a new verse every day... I don´t think I will, because I´m enjoying learning. But I enjoy learning together with you guys, I don´t think I could have kept it up on my own. Here I am in Romans 1, and Paul wants to visit them "that we may mutually encouraged by each others´ faith, both yours and mine." Well put, and thanks for your company.
Noooo!!! How did this even happen? I was looking forward to my 9-month consistency badge this week...it didn´t come, maybe because Feb is a short month? And now that I´m a few days overdue, I notice that I missed one day last week! How was that possible? That was my cunning plan to leapfrog past Eric, and now I will have to work much harder to do that. Ok, I´m awarding myself a point-less consolation prize of 471 consecutive days of LearnScripture, and like I always say, the points mean nothing. After all, it´s not that long until January 2017, right? Or maybe I should make a little tradition of skipping a day every time I approach 9 months in a row just to demonstrate that I don´t care about the points? Oh, well, whatever. I´m enjoying going through John all over again, and I´m looking forward to continued progress in Romans. I´ve learned a huge amount through this site. (And Eric, I WILL catch you someday... :-)
I´ve also had 93% and mastered a verse, but only once or twice. I wondered if the system was being with lenient with me on my first few verses but has now become stricter... :-) However it works, it´s a good system but frustratingly difficult to actually master verses :-) All the more rewarding to actually get there...
Today was a day of rest, and that´s exactly what I did, and I needed it. Not a bad thing that God initiated, insisting on one day a week to rest. Good decision.
Yeah, it´s well designed. I´ve never managed to stick to reading a little bit of the Bible every day until I found this place. And I find that memorizing slows me down from just reading through something and helps me to discover new things. Do you have any idea of what part of the Bible you want to learn first?

Oooh I feel your pain!!! Did that myself. It's so frustrating! But as you say Jan 17 isn't too far away! ;) If you need a few days off to let any backlog get caught up now is the time to take a breather. You are an inspiration though with your consistency despite missing the badge. Others would be tempted to give up.
Oooh that's hard! Happened to me with the 3 month badge, and I thought the same 'points don't matter' - she says, double checking daily that she has learnt a new verse as 3 months approaches again. But seriously you are a great example to us learning new verses and encouraging others, I'm sure it is a blessing to you.

I am speaking the truth—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit— that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart for Robinshe. (adapted from Romans 9:1-2)
As a beloved sister in Christ told me one day, "I am, by the way, pleased to see that your acute need to pass me resulted in you..." (the rest of the story does not end in a happy ending though as I read through this thread because she will never pass me). :-o
I believe that it is wonderful though that you had a cunning plan to leapfrog me! But as you see, "This alone I found, that God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes" (Ecclesiastes 7:29). And despite these schemes, underlying everything, there was perhaps a fire placed in your spirit by God to study harder than before? I'm honored I could be used by God for part of your commitment to the Word. :)
Grace, Mercy, and Peace to you and yours as you move past this insignificant, and yet utterly catastrophic defeat in Learnscripture.net Heather. Ha-ha!
No, but there are a bunch of us on this board who have been here for a while, and it´s good to have some company and encouragement as we each study our own things. Everyone can learn individually at their own pace, but it´s nice to have a place to sometimes share what you found or encourage others on their progress. And personally I find the point system kind of fun! Here you can see your progress for the week and altogether compared to the other people on the board.
ok, we´ll see if we can inspire any more to join us! JDJDJD - Good tip! I learned Hebrews 11 a long time ago, before I started going through the rest of the book. It does stand out!
Anyone learning Romans these days? I´m giving up (at least, taking a break) from Hebrews, which I am finding to be fairly heavy going. After 9 chapters I´m ready for something that´s not about high priests, even though it´s been interesting to read about how Jesus came to bring a new and perfect covenant to replace the first old testament covenant. I´m not sure I´ll go all the way through Romans without stopping, but I think this will be my project for the next little while.
