Not sure what you´ve learned so far, but Colossians, Ephesians, Philippians, James, Galatians and 1 Peter are all fairly short and full off good stuff. You also might want to consider learning Hebrews 11 and then just reading through the rest of Hebrews without learning it all fully.
I notice that the verses that are easiest to learn are the ones I already know from music - often camp songs I learned as a kid, or choral music. I don´t know whether any of you have younger kids (must be some of you here?), but if you´re looking for songs they might like to listen to in the car or before bed that have catchy tunes where the lyrics are just scripture quotations and nothing else, check out Seeds Family Worship on Spotify. Maybe they will remember these verses years from now? (The only downside is they´re not ESV!)
Hebrews is tough going. I chose it because I thought it would be a change from John (which it is!) and because I don´t know it as well as other parts of the NT. I guess part of what makes it difficult is that the intended audience obviously has a very different background than me, making it not as easy to relate to as other books, but this is also partly what makes it interesting - seeing how the story of Christ was presented to the Jewish people and how the NT and the new covenant makes sense in light of the old. But it´s also taking me a long time because I now have so much reviewing to do that I have slowed my pace to only 1 new verse a day, giving me time to go back and practise other verses, and this makes a huge difference to how quickly I get through a chapter! But I´m more than halfway now, so we´re getting there :-)
Great set of verses! Good for you and albertlok for this ambitious project - I find it hard to remember all the references for so many passages and have chosen instead just to work my way through whole chapters. But no question that I would like to be able to know all of these passages by heart including exactly where to find them all. Good luck to both of you, maybe I will join you sometime.
Welcome to the site and congratulations on your first 100.000! Come and join us on the Leaderboard Group for Everyone if you would like some company here :-)
I am, by the way, pleased to see that your acute need to pass me resulted in you achieving a new personal all time high for number of verses studied in a day! (I can´t think of any other possible reason for you to study so intensely, so I´m delighted to feel that I am a positive influence in your life). Congratulations on a whopping 148 verses in 24 hours!
Well that was a swift and brutal race. No need to draw things painfully though. I concede (for the time being, you never know when I might come sneaking back)... but now watch out Graetzmi! Here she comes!!
If you would like to join a group, there´s a whole bunch of us at the Leaderboard Group for Everyone, you´re welcome to join us there. Kind of fun to have some company. Hope you like the site so far :-)

Hmmm. Ok. That's not what I wanted to hear. I had planned to do Hebrews after John and I still want to but I'm still recovering form 1 John :S I don't know why but it was really hard, not to understand, but to memorise. I listen to it 5 times a week and I still don't have it down! It does seem different to everything else though. I might fit in Philippians before tackling it just for something small.

The points are really well designed and got me hooked as well (funny how it matters so much not to miss a single day!), although in the highly unlikely event that you should ever pass me, I will of course argue that points are silly and meaningless and don´t matter at all to me :-)
Fantastic! I´m discovering it takes quite a bit to finish a verse, "almost there" and "just about" is not good enough. 600 is an awful lot to have really finished - you must have thousands that you´re "sort of finished, just made some typos, really I did actually know it". Or else you´re made of better stuff than me :-) But I agree, fun to have so many so active here, and precious words that we are learning together :-)
That´s the one down side of this site - the number of translations available is limited. But other than that it´s a great site - it tests you just often enough, and it´s also nice to be able to connect with other people who are learning at the same time. And while no one is here (I think?) just for the points, they do make it fun to learn and motivating to keep at it. If you´re interested, you´re welcome to join us on the "Leaderboard Group for Everyone" board, there are lots of active people there.
Joosep!!! We will miss you here! I´m glad it was a difficult decision - you´ll have to check in from time to time and say hello. But I´m glad you´ve found a place where you can continue to study in the version you are most familiar with. I have been finding Hebrews dense stuff compared to John (quiz me on Melchizadech, bet I can answer), and have been finding it hard to make progress recently, but in discussion with some other friends the other night I really saw how much I have learned with the help of a site like this. When others said "I think it says somewhere something like...", I knew what it was and (mostly) where it was. I understand also how much help this can be in preparing for a Bible Study, am using this to some extent in the same way preparing Sunday school. May God bless you and your wife and those in the Bible study that you lead. Let us know anytime if you would like us to pray for anything special. Thanks for your active participation and welcoming attitude on this site. All the best, Joosep, we will meet again :-). And when we do I will have more points here than you :-)
