I tried using the single letter option, and I found that my mistakes increased exponentially. That combined with having lower reminders and less mistakes before it triggers a red fail made me abandon it altogether. Maybe if I had started out that way from the beginning it would be better, but I suspect my muscle memory and typing speed will prevent me from using that option again.
Also there are times when I find it appropriate to refresh the screen. For example, if I accidentally hit the space bar while in the middle of typing the correct word, I may refresh. The same is true if I misspell the correct word and the system doesn't auto correct it. Finally, if the system glitches and jumps ahead, duplicating the word you just typed in the next box which triggers an automatic miss. In my run to 256, the system jumped ahead 4-5 times.
It just depends on the verses really. Doing it with random verses is impossible if you type out all the words. It might be possible with the pick the word option, but I've never messed with that option. If I had it to do over again, I probably would have picked the Beatitudes.
I find that I make silly mistakes. Even after doing Psalm 91 something like 30 times in a row over several hours to get Ace 9, I still made a mistake on the chapter the next day.
Thanks for the kind words. I suspect some people may not happy with how I got it, given the tepid response, but I appreciate it either way. Despite my good week, I suspect you'll be passing me on the points list shortly given how much higher your weekly average is compared to mine. I'd say you'll be at 6m and pass me before the end of April. And I'll be there cheering you on as you pass me!
So here's how I did this trophy. I picked Psalm 91:1-16. I got it to the point where the entire chapter came up for review. I clicked Review and did the first fifteen verses. Then I clicked Dashboard and clicked Review again for Psalm 91. This puts you back at verse 1. I repeated this process until I got the trophy, which took about two hours total. There are better ways to do this trophy, but this is a chapter I rarely make mistakes in so I went with it. Good luck to anyone else that goes for it. The sheer amount of concentration it takes to do this is insane. Also, your hands will hurt if you type it out like I do. Make sure your son doesn't cook food in the middle of it, because that will seriously impact your concentration!

Great stuff! Trust you are being blessed as you tuck scripture away in your mind and meditate as you learn. You’ve got there really quickly. Well done!
Onfire247, don’t let people get you down for how you got a trophy. All of the trophy stuff is ancillary benefit to the real joy of being solid on verses and passages. Plus, I have noticed that even when I know passages solidly, the occasional typo comes up and wrecks a streak. So, your focus is accurately and duly merited! Keep it up!
A belated congratulations! (Not just for the six million, but also for Ace Level 9.) It must have taken an intense amount of concentrations to type 256 verses in a row at 100 percent, especially since you're typing the verses fully and not using the first letter option. I pray you'll continue to be faithful to this site and grow every day in Jesus (a prayer that we all need).

Wow! Congratulations, onfire247, for reaching this pinnacle of accomplishment and for withstanding the savoury aromas coming from your kitchen! Thanks also for sharing the strategy you used. 🥳
I'd just like to add that when I make these suggestions, I am in no way complaining about the site. I love this website. I'm so thankful to spooky for finally providing me a tool that encourages me to memorize. I think of this website as ice cream. Sure, the ice cream might taste a bit better with nuts or chocolate sauce on it, but even without addons, the ice cream is still great!
Thanks! I'd like to say I'm just that accurate on every verse, but I had to be strategic about it. I am learning Psalm 91, and I have it to the point where it asks for the whole chapter. What I did is type out the first 15 verses perfectly, and then go back to the dashboard. When you go back to review Psalm 91, it asks you to start from the beginning. So I just repeated those 15 verses again, repeating until I got the badge. You still have to be perfect on those verses, but doing verses I know well perfectly 64 times is much easier than trying to do it across 500+ random verses which include new ones. Getting 64, 128, or 256 in a row without planning the badges out is just not possible for me because new verses or silly mistakes end up messing up my streak.
I'm secretly hoping that one day they'll retool this badge entirely and replace it with "user got x number of verses correct at 100%." So like Ace 1 = 1 verse perfectly. Ace 2 = 100 verses perfectly (not in a row). Ace 3 = 300. Ace 4 = 500. Ace 5 = 1,000. Ace 6 = 5,000. Ace 7 = 10,000. Ace 8 = 20,000. Ace 9 = 50,000. Ace 10 = 100,000. If you figure 100 reviews a day, that would take about three years to get Ace 10 if you're at 90% overall accuracy.
Setup like this there would be less stress with this badge, and less anger when you make a silly mistake that ruins your streak. It rewards accuracy over time rather than accuracy in a row - which would seem to be the goal of bible memorization. A setup like I've described would push me for further reviews. The Ace badge as it stands now does not, sadly.
He probably forgot to put his sarcasm font on. You are not a disappointment in the eyes of God. No one would send his Son to pay for someone's sins that was a disappointment. You are precious in his eyes, so keep pushing toward him!
