That's a wonderful Psalm. A long time ago, in the first church I ever went to, we used to sing a version of that Psalm ... "My glory and the lifter of my head" and so on. It used to be one of my favorites to sing and I can still sing it to myself, but I haven't heard it sung in church for a long long time.

I was very curious and was checking out the Carechism in not committed to it yet but very very interested and will definitely make that a commitment in the future...but I'm trying to figure things out here get a taste of the flow and how things operate here, familiarize myself inside this surrounding and start growing you know....this is different and new for me. Hi everyone I was invited by PeterP and I'm just so happy 😊 to be heeeere!!! I already have for the month of Sept. Psalm 139 all the way up to verse 18 committed to memory already. It is literally a split between ESV AND NJKV because in my beginning stages when I first got started in making memorization a life habit I was fluctuating between different versions. Then I committed to only using my NKJV. Now Literally I'll have to learn both NKJV AND KJV because of here lol 😂... it is okay but will just be a tab bit harder and longer, but hey I'll have it!!!
I never finished it and moved on to memorizing other scriptures and said I would get back to it but now with a challenge I'll feel more motivate to finish it....

I just joined the club and will definetely be looking forward to that exciting adventure!!! I'm like super happy that I spent hours looking for apps, chat rooms, online societies, online communities, online groups that were committed to memorizing the Bible. Even though it didn't seemed like i didn't get anywhere because there are no such things as those yet still what I have found I cherish and I'm just loving everyone I have meet so far...

Yeah Robinshe 2 years on my own I have sooo much fun with it honestly so much and I still do but Ive notice I'm not picking up my bible everyday or even a couple times out of the week ever since hitting my 3rd year. It's like my fire and zeal is just slowly burning out and I'm scared because I've been so blessed by doing this.

Please nobody be intimidated by the points I have. most of this is what I've already learned on my own... I haven't even finished posting the all of the rest because i've learned majority of them from the nkjv and it's much different learning the kjv translation with different wording.....I'll get to it slowly... I need a memorizing buddy/partner to help challenge each other!!!

If anybody is still out there I need a challenge buddy ASAP!!! Literally I'm running out of steam doing this on my own now for 2 years now... I need a buddy or buddies who will be a challenge to me and each other where we will want to learn as much scripture as we can and just be a challenge... yeah I know it's not a competition but it will be a motivator for wanting to read the Bible everyday. Trust me we are not reading and storing the word if God in our hearts for no reason... so if you can and if you will and if you want to please feel free to let me know and let's get really started on devouring the word of God!!!
I really wish they had this in the New King James Version here. I understand that The King James Version is the closest to the original but still it would be completely helpful if there was a NKJV for us younger folks who prefer this version over that. I've already read and written a lot of the NKJV onto the tablets of my heart and yeah I do love the kjv at times...but...I just have more of a relationship with the newer version. Now it's like I have to relearn and adapt a whole new language... but any who if there's ppl out there please I need someone or people or group who will be a challenge buddy/buddies to me... we can both challenge and motivate each other to go one step further than the other... yeah it be kinda like a completion but it will be for a good cause...it will be for JESUS 🤣😂🤣

Here you can keep track of how you´re doing, and even though I agree that it´s not a competition, it´s still kind of fun to work your way up the board and see how long you can keep it up. Hello ICanDo ... I agree totally with Robinshe. I'd suggest also, when you start learning new verses or create a new verse set or something, make it public. Then, when I see that you are studying some Bible passage, I'd love to have the chance to ask you something like, well, what did you learn by studying this passage? or why are these verses meaningful to you? etc. And of course, you can also ask the same of me. This is one possible way we can challenge each other :)
I´m actually really impressed that you managed to study consistently on your own for two years! I have always had the ambition of reading the Bible regularly, and can´t tell you how many times I´ve started only to give up soon afterwards as soon as things get busy. This place and the people here have been an enormous help to me, and for the first time in my life I´ve been able to stay reading consistently. Sometimes it´s very inspiring, sometimes less so, and I can´t say I always see the difference it should be making in my life, but I pray that it will over time change who I am to be more the person I was created to be. My grandmother has read the Bible throughout her life and is a wonderful example of a person who lives from day to day "just putting everything in the Lord´s hands".

Hi ICanDo. Another way of joining in with others is the 'Chapter a Month Club'. They publish a schedule, and you can learn alongside others around the world. Google it, or see the group page in this LearnScripture app to find out more. September's chapter is Psalm 139. I add one new verse per day, then try to keep up with my review list.
