LOL, after today there are still 35 more chapters until I catch up Graetzmi, provided that more don't come up for review in the meantime. I will catch up someday, no worries.
I forced myself to take a long break, I unfortunately made this website a chore instead of a joy because of the "learn a new verse everyday" streak. If you look at my history, there are 5 days back in July where I learned and reviewed one verse per day. I was in Mexico at the time on vacation and yet I still had to get my 1 per day. Shame on me for making that badge an idol...so I had to kill it and the streak. There are other reasons too such as not wanting to be chained to a computer while I was off from school, but overall, my heart needed to be refreshed in order to find the joy in learning God's word again.

Hey there, good to see you again, even if you just drop by to say hello. There are times I feel very blessed by what I read, when I feel that God is speaking to me and teaching me things, and there are times when I don´t feel that way, and I think that´s just part of living in our fallen world. My "one a day" is my way of trying to keep in a good habit and continue to grow steadily in my knowledge of his word, but there are lots of ways to stay in touch with God other than memorisation, and fortunately, He has a way of staying in touch with us! May God refresh you in whatever way is right for you :-)
Currently in Malawi giving out gospel texts. 😊 Wifi is scarce. Will be back at the weekend and desperate to get back to learnscripture. Missing it and missing the fellowship of you all.
Ah... well, I suppose that´s an acceptable reason for your sudden absence. I was rather quick to rule out the hypothesis "I´ll just wait a few days to let Heather catch up", and moved on to much more likely scenarios: 1) death, or 2) what is considered by many to be an even worse fate "Help, I have no wi-fi and roaming costs 15 bucks pr MB!!!". All things considered, I´m glad it turned out to be the latter. Praying that the Lord blesses your work in Malawi and draws to Him all those who receive your gospel texts. And then welcome home again :-)
That's hilarious. 😂 I'm definitely not kind enough to let folks catch up. Will be back with a vengeance when back in UK. Truly an amazing experience being in a 3rd world country. Very humbling.
Careful. I missed a few days and it took me 2 weeks to clean up my revision list before I could start learning new verses again! They sure pile up if you leave it too long. :)
I am speaking the truth—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit— that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart for Robinshe. (adapted from Romans 9:1-2)
As a beloved sister in Christ told me one day, "I am, by the way, pleased to see that your acute need to pass me resulted in you..." (the rest of the story does not end in a happy ending though as I read through this thread because she will never pass me). :-o
I believe that it is wonderful though that you had a cunning plan to leapfrog me! But as you see, "This alone I found, that God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes" (Ecclesiastes 7:29). And despite these schemes, underlying everything, there was perhaps a fire placed in your spirit by God to study harder than before? I'm honored I could be used by God for part of your commitment to the Word. :)
Grace, Mercy, and Peace to you and yours as you move past this insignificant, and yet utterly catastrophic defeat in Learnscripture.net Heather. Ha-ha!
GREAT name! I was led by the Spirit to comment. If you put ours together you have Ephesians 2:8-9, among other passages.
Congratulations on your first 100,000 too!!! It was quick, much faster than most. May you fan that passion into a burning desire for His word, and may Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4 and Luke 4:4 hold true for you.
Grace and Peace to you on your journey. Numbers 6:24-26
Bwaaa haaa haa! I am dying laughing over here. Your comments are priceless!
Here's why, last night all of chapter 2 of Romans came up to review, coupled with my ferocious pace through Titus and Timothy recently equaled about 50 or so verses.
This morning I woke up and Romans 11 (another 36 verses) came up for review, along with several other random verses and parts of chapters.
Then I thought to myself , "Geez, Robinshe is totally going to think that I am trying to beat her/him because a lot of verses have come up for review."
NO JOKE, as soon as I finished reviewing all those previously mentioned verses, Romans 8 came up for review (39 verses)!
THEN, I looked at my verses done for the day and said, "Geez, this is going to be a record high too! Robinshe is totally going to think I am trying to beat him/her!" This looks bad.
And then your comments, I love it! Glad to see we think alike.
P.S. My name is Eric, just for reference I am not a she, and its an honor to meet you. Thanks for the laughs.
"Through obstacles in life and through cleared pathways, during trials of suffering and during seasons of prosperity, in physical sickness and in mental wellness, and regardless of whatever else may come... I will catch Robinshe!!!!"
:-) Ha-ha, its "on" now. :-)
Thank you Robinshe for the encouragement! I admit the points are what got me hooked on using this site, but learning God's word is all I care about now. However, for what its worth, I am deeply sorry that I am going to have to pass you by on the Leaderboards...;) :-O :-)

The points are really well designed and got me hooked as well (funny how it matters so much not to miss a single day!), although in the highly unlikely event that you should ever pass me, I will of course argue that points are silly and meaningless and don´t matter at all to me :-)
Well that was a swift and brutal race. No need to draw things painfully though. I concede (for the time being, you never know when I might come sneaking back)... but now watch out Graetzmi! Here she comes!!
I am, by the way, pleased to see that your acute need to pass me resulted in you achieving a new personal all time high for number of verses studied in a day! (I can´t think of any other possible reason for you to study so intensely, so I´m delighted to feel that I am a positive influence in your life). Congratulations on a whopping 148 verses in 24 hours!

No chance of overtaking me, sorry Eric. I don't understand how you are getting more points when I am reviewing more verses per day than you. My mistakes due to rushing in the morning must be adding up :S
Sorry to see you go buddy. It makes complete sense if 40+ years of your life have been dedicated to one version of the Bible and its not on here. Was it easy to find a church that uses that translation??? I actually have not come across a church around my local area that uses the NASB, so I wonder about overseas as you are, considering it is called the North American Standard Bible.
I mostly use an ESV bible and sometimes the scripture to memorize on here (same version) is different than what is written in my bible. I don't sweat this though because I read several different versions of the Bible because of my studies. We should really just learn Hebrew and Greek and be done with all these different translations right? Ha-ha.
Regardless my brother, Grace to you and Peace from God our father and our Lord Jesus Christ on your journey through life.
and, I'll ask God to help me identify the guy who identified himself as "Joosep" when I get to heaven...
