Praise God that you are returning to His welcoming arms. In the story of the Prodigal Son, the father saw his son coming from a distance, and ran to meet him. I too have experienced backsliding. God is faithful, even when we are not.

I've been thinking about this phrase recently too so I'm glad to see your discussion. Matthew Henry says about Christ's experience, and the lesson we learn from it: "We need affliction, to teach us submission." Just think, the Lord got it right first time, every time. Amazing.

Thank you all of you! Yes I've experienced the subtle effect of worldliness, but am obliged to spend a lot of time sitting in front of a telly keeping my Alzheimer's Dad company. Temptation is rife. I'll try the first letter method. And yes, I am also a 65wpm typist from the 80s, hence I thought you might be using a laptop, but I have to use a mobile. Anyway, you have all encouraged me with your witness and works. Thanks again.

How do you manage to do so many verses in a day? Are you using a mobile or a computer? Do you just do it at intervals all through the day?

On the subject of catching up on reviews, I have from time to time just allocated a Lord's Day where I've spent all my spare time just reviewing. It does the soul no harm and clears the pile periodically.
